Began martial arts in 1987 with Isshin Ryu Karate in Rochester NY. Also studied a little Aiki Jujitsu.
Sept. 1989: Founded and instructed the Isshin Ryu Karate club at Colgate University as a Brown Belt.
Jan 1992: Received 1st degree Black Belt in Isshin Ryu Karate before spending a semester of college in Japan. (Trained a little Kyokushin Karate while in Japan, and attended an international martials seminar, March 1992).
July 1993 – March 2002: Lived in Japan. Dabbled in various martial arts and attended yearly seminars. Trained in Isshin Ryu during various visits home.
Dec 2003: Received 2nd degree Black Belt in Isshin Ryu Karate.
March 2004: Moved to Lawrence NJ and began studying at NEAMA in April.
May 2008: Received 1st degree Black Belt at NEAMA.
May 2010: Received 2nd degree Black Belt at NEAMA. |
